Launceston City Deal

My Place My Future - revitalising the northern suburbs

The My Place My Future Plan is all about revitalising Launceston’s northern suburbs by increasing inclusion and connectedness, celebrating community assets and providing equitable access to services and programs.

Everyone who chooses Launceston as their home should share in the advantages our city has to offer. This includes access to education and employment, healthy lifestyle choices, and a strong sense of safety and belonging in the community.

The My Place My Future Plan focuses on Invermay, Mowbray, Newnham, Mayfield, Rocherlea, Waverley and Ravenswood. These suburbs make up one-third of the Launceston’s population.

Initiatives and projects delivered to date include:

  • Installation of public Wi-Fi sites at Churchill Park Invermay, The Shed Rocherlea and Rocherlea Football Club
  • Completion of second year "Ignite Us" grassroots, community leadership program
  • Completion of "Slow Down Save Lives" road safety campaign in Ravenswood and Rocherlea
  • Successful skate park competition and community event "Rave on Wheels" held in Ravenswood, in collaboration with Communities for Children and the Neighbourhood House.
