The Tasmanian Government has assumed a caretaker role ahead of the election for the Tasmanian House of Assembly. It is important during this time that Tasmanian Government resources are not used to communicate political material. As such, no political or election material will be placed on this site.

Launceston City Deal

Launceston apprenticeships pipeline project

Exciting new infrastructure projects, including the University of Tasmania relocation and City Heart, are delivering more than just bricks and mortar. They are generating opportunities to take the first steps towards a lifelong career.

These projects are generating demand for a skilled, local building and construction workforce, and offer career pathways for young people across the region.

To ensure our young people can make the most of these opportunities, Skills Tasmania and the Tasmanian Construction Industry Training Board are working in tandem with the education sector to provide apprenticeships in the construction industry.

Across construction of the Student Experience and Library, River’s Edge, and The Shed buildings as part of the UTAS redevelopment, over 162,000 training hours will be provided for apprentices.
